Terms

Platform terms and operating rules

These terms explain what FluxService does as a platform, what customers and plumbers can expect from the quote and job flow, and where responsibility remains with independent plumbers and payment processors.

Status: Operational draft pending legal reviewLast updated: March 8, 2026Coverage: Customers, plumbers, and platform accounts

Platform role

FluxService provides the platform for job intake, quotes, booking updates, messages, and records.

Important distinction

FluxService is not the on-site plumbing contractor. Plumbing services are delivered by independent professionals who use the platform, while FluxService operates the account, quote, booking, messaging, and payment-reference workflow.

Open legal review items

Counsel still needs to confirm the exact contract structure, when a customer becomes bound, whether the service contract is solely between customer and plumber, and how that should be described across checkout, receipts, cancellations, and support.

  • FluxService manages account access, enquiry routing, quote comparison, and job state tracking.
  • Independent plumbers remain responsible for the quality, timing, and legality of their on-site work.
  • Emergency or hazardous conditions should not wait for standard platform support.

Accounts and approval

The platform depends on accurate identity, contact, and region details to route work correctly.

Customers

Keep account email and phone details current so quotes, updates, and support reach the right person.

Plumbers

Approval, region selection, and Stripe Connect payout onboarding may be required before full workspace access is enabled.

  • Users are responsible for protecting login access and reporting suspected misuse quickly.
  • FluxService may suspend or limit accounts where fraud, abuse, unsafe conduct, or policy bypass is suspected.

Quotes, acceptance, and booking flow

Customers can compare quotes, choose one option, and follow the job from booking to completion.

  • Customers may compare multiple quotes before choosing one.
  • Once one quote is accepted, competing quotes may close automatically for that enquiry.
  • Safety escalation can pause or redirect the normal quote flow where the issue appears hazardous.
  • Arrival and completion checkpoints are used to record handoff and close-out state.

Payments and payouts

Payment handling depends on third-party processors rather than direct manual handling by the site.

Customer payments

Processor references, refund state, and dispute state may be stored as part of the booking and payment records, but full card details are not handled directly by the site database.

Plumber payouts

Payout setup and payout status are handled through Stripe Connect onboarding and related processor references rather than separate manual identity checks inside the website.

Still pending legal sign-off

Final public wording still needs to confirm the legal status of deposits, cancellation and refund rules, chargebacks and disputes, and whether the current Stripe structure supports FluxService's intended marketplace role.

Questions about data retention for transactions and dispute evidence are covered in the retention policy.

Cancellations, refunds, and disputes

These areas need final legal wording because the live product already includes quote acceptance, deposits, cancellation paths, and dispute-sensitive payment records.

Still pending legal sign-off

Counsel still needs to confirm how cancellations, refunds, chargebacks, and complaints should be described, which party is responsible in each case, and how those rules interact with the platform's intended marketplace structure.

  • The current product includes deposit payments, cancellation paths, and support escalation.
  • Final terms still need to confirm when refunds are available, when deposits may be forfeited, and who decides disputes about the underlying service.
  • Final terms should also state whether court, ADR, or another process will apply to platform disputes.

Liability, safety, and emergency limits

The platform supports coordination. It is not a substitute for emergency action or local legal duties.

  • FluxService does not act as an emergency dispatch or hazard response line.
  • Users should contact emergency or professional services immediately where health, water damage, or electrical risk is present.
  • Non-excludable consumer or statutory rights remain where local law requires them.

Acceptable use

Platform access depends on honest use of the quote, messaging, and booking systems.

  • No fraudulent enquiries, fake listings, or impersonation.
  • No harassment, spam, or attempts to bypass platform controls in bad faith.
  • No misuse of support channels for unlawful or abusive content.
